Getting here from the Marina
The clinic is on Al Seef Street in Barsha Heights, roughly fifteen minutes from Dubai Marina and JBR heading inland and towards Dubai on Sheikh Zayed Road. At the hours these calls usually come in the road is clear, so the fifteen minutes is a real figure rather than an optimistic one.
Set off after you have called, not before. You will be given a time on the phone and the clinic is opened for you, so the drive is the only waiting you do.
Why Marina residents end up calling
The Marina and JBR run on a later clock than most of Dubai, and the dental problems follow the same schedule. A crown that comes out during dinner, a tooth cracked on something hard at eleven at night, a toothache that has been building all week and picks Friday to become unbearable.
The other common one here is the flight. This is a district full of people leaving for somewhere at six in the morning, and a broken tooth or an exposed nerve is genuinely miserable at altitude. What is treated, at any hour
Severe toothache
An X-ray, then a nerve dressing or the first stage of a root canal, the same night. Night toothache.
Broken or chipped teeth
Smoothed, sealed and rebuilt in one visit. Bring the fragment if you have it.
Swelling and abscesses
Drained the same night. This is the one that should never wait. Abscesses.
Lost crowns and veneers
Bring the crown. It can often be re-cemented in a single short visit.
Prices are the same at any hour and are published in advance. There is no night surcharge and no call-out fee.
Call before you drive
Dr. Sarhan answers the phone himself, at any hour. He will tell you whether you need to come in now or can safely sleep, and if you are coming, what to do in the meantime. A fair number of these calls end with a normal appointment being booked for the week instead, which is a good outcome and costs nothing.
