Ten minutes, most of it on one road
The clinic is at 1 Al Seef Street in Barsha Heights, a straightforward run from JLT towards Dubai. From the cluster you live in it is around ten minutes at night, which makes this one of the closest genuine 24 hour dental options to JLT.
The JLT pattern
JLT is offices downstairs and apartments upstairs, so the calls from here split into two kinds. There is the one that starts at three in the morning in a flat in one of the clusters, and there is the one that starts during a working day and gets postponed until it cannot be postponed any longer, which is usually around ten at night.
Both are the same service. The difference the 24 hour line makes to the second kind is that you do not have to take a morning off work to deal with a tooth that has been ruining your week.
Before you set off
Call
The number rings Dr. Sarhan's own phone. Describe what you are feeling and you will be told whether this is tonight or tomorrow.
Get a time
If you are coming in, you are given a time and the clinic is opened for you. There is no queue behind another patient.
Do the first aid
Whatever applies to your case, you will be told on the call. Cold on the outside of the cheek for pain, milk for a knocked-out tooth, gauze and firm pressure for bleeding.
Drive over
Parking is directly outside the building. You are seen on arrival.
Prices do not change with the hour and are published in advance: consultation AED 500, X-ray AED 175 to 550, emergency appointment AED 1,500 to 2,500 all in.
What counts as worth calling about
If it is keeping you awake, it is an emergency. Severe toothache, a broken or knocked-out tooth, swelling in the face or gum, a lost crown or filling, a wisdom tooth that has flared up. If yours is not on that list, call anyway, because the phone is answered by the dentist rather than a reception desk and the answer is free.
